Sure, you already have a Psychologist. So, why would you need Psychotherapy in your organisation? More importantly, why would you want to talk through negative experiences of the past? One-to-one Psychotherapy is a holistic process that takes a broad view of each individuals lives. Whether working with the specific athlete themselves or a member of the support team, we provide an independent, impartial space where people can talk openly about any area of their live. This allows clients to let go of the baggage that’s been holding them back and be fully present in their performance.

What Do we Know About elite performance?

Well, quite a lot actually. All the therapists and trainers working within the The Process ‘Elite Sports Performance’ have first hand experience of elite environments as either athletes or coaches. This helps us to get into your frame of reference, seeing things from your perspective with an in-depth understanding of exactly what it’s like to be on the other side of the conversation. This helps us to build a strong relationship founded on trust and mutual respect as soon as we begin working together.

“I had one-to-one therapy with The Process for nine months. The sessions really helped me to work through the challenges I was facing off the field. This allowed me to fully focus in my training and performance in matches. I feel like I’m getting back to my best and achieving my goals again.

“Tennis can be a lonely sport! I was always looking to external excuses and blaming others for my performance. Working with The Process allowed me to develop the tools to look within myself during difficult moments. I’m able to be my own coach when I need to be and that’s really helped.”

I didn’t want talk to anyone at the club about my challenges. I was concerned that I may lose my place in the team if people knew I was struggling. Working with a therapist helped me to work through the challenges in a safe, confidential space where I felt comfortable.”
